Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lantr application and related services (the "Service") provided by Lantr ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Alpha Program

Lantr is currently in alpha. This means:

The Service is provided "as is" and may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features.
Features may be added, changed, or removed without prior notice.
The Service may experience downtime or interruptions.
We may limit the number of alpha participants at our discretion.
The alpha program is free of charge. Pricing will be introduced in a future release with advance notice.

2. Account and Access

You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and devices.
You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Your Content

Ownership: You retain full ownership of all presentations, text, images, and other content you create using Lantr ("Your Content"). Your presentations (.ltrn files) are stored locally on your device.
AI Interactions: When you use The Director, only the content relevant to your request is sent to our AI infrastructure for processing. This data is not stored after the request is completed.
No Training: We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for Your Content. Do not use Lantr to create presentations containing illegal, defamatory, or infringing content.

4. The Director (AI Features)

The Director is an AI assistant that helps structure and refine your presentation's narrative. It does not write content for you unless you explicitly request it.
AI suggestions are provided as-is and may not always be accurate or appropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any changes.
AI features are subject to usage limits that may change during the alpha period.
The Director processes requests through Microsoft Azure AI Foundry. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application.
Attempt to circumvent usage limits, authentication, or security measures.
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code through presentation files or images.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lantr application, including its design, code, story grammar system, narrative block structure, and The Director AI, are the intellectual property of Lantr.
The .ltrn file format is proprietary to Lantr.
"Lantr" and the Lantr logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We are not liable for any loss of data, content, or presentations. Your files are stored locally and are your responsibility to back up.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (during the free alpha, this amount is zero).

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the alpha program.
Upon termination, your presentations remain on your device. We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
